Kipari, Rautavaara

Kipari recreational area is a stunning destination in Rautavaara. The area has a 2,2km ring route for hiking, Kiparin kierto. The beginning of the route is a good-based, but relatively steep uphill on a nature reserve. The rest of the route to the top is done via stairs or a path around the stairs. The route continues on a smaller path towards Paljakka on the ridge, and then continues down the hill all the way back to the starting point. There are several boardwalks, a bridge, and benches along the way to rest.

In the hut at the top of the mountain, you can enjoy snacks and make a fire to roast sausages or to make coffee on a stove. There is also a wood shed with firewood and a toilet.

The top of the Kipari offers breathtaking views of Keyritty lake, which can be admired from the 14-meter observation tower.

The route is not maintained in winter, but depending on the weather and the amount of snow, Kipari can be conquered in winter with snowshoes or without. Kipari also has its own 300-meter slope for sledding.
